The Introduction to Black & White Photography is ideal for everyone from absolute beginners to those who would like to learn how to process film and make their own prints. The course will teach you about camera functions, choosing the correct type and speed of film, shutter speeds, and will introduce you to the basics of film processing and printing techniques. You need to supply your own 35mm SLR manual camera and film. The Gallery will supply all chemicals, enlargers, enlarging lens and photographic paper. Prices quoted are person.
Gallery of Photography is located in Temple Bar Dublin 2. This course starts on selected dates throughout the year, and runs over four weekday evenings from 7.00pm - 9.30pm and also over four Saturday mornings from 11.30am - 2pm. Advance booking on AllGifts.ie is required.
The Gallery, Bookshop & Darkrooms are open Tuesdays to Saturdays, 11:00am - 6:00pm and on Sundays from 1:00am-6:00pm

Since its inception in 1978 the Gallery of Photography has become Ireland's premier venue for photography. It has staged exhibitions with many of the major names in contemporary photography. The Gallery moved to its purpose built space with fully fitted darkrooms and digital imaging facilities in Meeting House Square, Temple Bar, Dublin in 1995.
